Romans 10.

Of the Israelites, Paul says,

For ignoring the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking instead to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. For Christ is the end of the law, with the result that there is righteousness for everyone who believes.

Roman 10:3,4

The “end of the law” might be better understood as goal, culmination, or fulfillment of the law. Since the Israelites refused to believe in Jesus as messiah, they don’t receive the righteousness Christ brings. A hard truth for the non-believers, but refreshing, cleansing water for us, who do believe.

There follows shortly after this explanation of righteousness, these outstanding words of Paul’s about salvation …

because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation.

Romans 10:9-10

Say it loudly, sistren and brethren, Jesus is Lord.
