There is just too much to choose from in this chapter, and it’s all so emotionally challenging. But I will say just this. In verses 21-23 …
21 And while they were eating he said, “I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.”22 They became greatly distressed and each one began to say to him, “Surely not I, Lord?” 23 He answered, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.
Matthew 26:21-23
Here, Jesus is not so much identifying who will betray him as he is saying, “I am betrayed by one this close to me, one who has shared this meal with me.”
Today’s reading was BIG. I’m very moved by Jesus calling Judas friend in verse 50.
Mercy and love are the nature of God-and His love and patience gives time for all until Jesus returns, to receive Him and His love. He desires that none would perish.
I want to love everyone just like Jesus does. (I couldn’t even want that before being born again). Nothing of my action/words depending on others actions/words, just the love of God ever flowing out. Loving my enemy, blessing those who hate me. Just Jesus…just Jesus….
Thanks for sharing!
