Genesis 40-42, Psalm 14

Dreams and more dreams. God provides insights to Joseph that eventually lead to his rise to second in command in Egypt. Pretty amazing. But note that it also takes a while, the cupbearer forgetting about Joseph’s request to talk about Joseph to pharaoh.

And as these dreams of pharaoh are fulfilled, so too Joseph’s earlier dreams about how things would turn out between his brothers and himself come to pass. I don’t know about any of you, but Joseph’s actions with his brothers and his father, don’t match how I would think this would go. Again, I sense some Hebrew cultural things at play. But the one thing that does seem apparent is that Joseph wants the family all together.

Psalm note: This: “Fools say in their hearts, ‘There is no God.'”
