What did you discover today? Any comments?
A couple of things that caught my attention:
- As Peter repeats what took place to him in Joppa and Caesarea, I couldn’t help but think about all the times in the Old Testament we see repeated information. For example, God provides to Moses detailed instructions for building the tabernacle, and later we read how the tabernacle actually was constructed, duplicating God’s instructions.
- When Peter reports back to the Jerusalem church he is faced with criticism that he even associated with the gentiles (the uncircumcised). Didn’t Jesus tell them that his salvation would be for the whole world? It’s a good thing God did orchestrate everything so carefully for Peter to take the gospel to the gentiles, and that he could repeat what happened.
Peter reached out to the Gentiles. God’s plan is to save the whole world, not just certain people groups. This reminds me of how Pam reached out to such a very wide variety of people. It is my goal do to this more and more.
