Luke 8.

The story of the healing of Jairus daughter and the “woman of issue” is a great combination of events. It’s easy to put yourself into the role of the various characters — Jairus, crowd, disciples, woman who is healed — and consider what was the perspective of that character. Imagine Jairus who must have been in such a hurry to get Jesus to his daughter and then to be delayed by this side issue. Yikes.

I heard someone speaking on this story and specifically about the woman, whom he considered a coward. I don’t see it that way at all. To even push into the crowd to get close to Jesus must have taken great courage, with some desperation. Imagine again Jairus, who saw the results of faith even in the delay. Have faith Jairus!
