In the last eight verses of the letter, James explains that we should deal with suffering, sickness, and sin by praying (intercession with the Lord), and intercession with the person needing it. We are called to be in each other’s lives, assisting one another through the trials we encounter.

The verses about prayer remind me of Sunday Class at Beaverton Christian Church. Jim guided us through the process of how to do an in-depth topical study. We all did this for the subject of Prayer. We worked on our own at home and discussed our findings together. We looked at the subject of Prayer throughout the whole Bible. It was an eye-opener to me about how verses can get quite misconstrued when they are not looked at from the perspective of the entire Bible.
Yes, we need to seek the whole counsel of scripture to make sure we get it right.
