If you’ve stuck to the reading plan, you have read 1/4 of the New Testament. Congratulations!
If you’ve missed any readings, the weekend is when you can catch up. Or, just start fresh next week with where we are (it will be James, chapter 3).
This post is here for you to leave any comments you have from our readings this past week.
When I read James, it is easy for me to get discouraged as I see how short I fall in so many areas and what a long ways I have to go. It helps me to remind myself of Philippians 1:6. I like the fresh twist of The Passion Translation: ” There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.” It is GOD who is doing the work in me, and it is my job to cooperate. It is not MYSELF who needs to come up with a grand plan for myself and carry it out BY MYSELF. (TPT (The Passion Translation): although the word “translation” is in its name, it is actually a paraphrase.)
